Chocolate Nutella Bread Pudding

Im a huge fan of bread pudding. It’s what I usually look for whenever I’m at a restaurant. Especially if it’s crispy and soft at the same time, and comes with milky creamy vanilla sauce.. Ooh yum yum.

Ovenhaven has inspired me time and again with her gorgeous photos, and this time round, it’s her nutella chocolate bread pudding that won me over. It’s not really that hard to win me over, seriously. My sister thinks I’m weak willed. Haha, but I’ve digressed. Anything that involves chocolate, and baking, and without the need of a mixer, count me in!

Ingredients for bread pudding:

4 slices of day-old bread
1 egg
1 cup chocolate milk
2 tsp sugar
Nutella

Instructions:

– Preheat oven to 170C.
– Slather Nutella over a slice of wholemeal bread, roll it up, and cut into four rolls, like sushi rolls. Place the rolls into a baking dish.
– In a bowl, whisk egg, chocolate milk and sugar.
– Pour the mixture onto the rolls. Leave aside for about 5 – 10 minutes, for the mixture to be absorbed. (I left it for about 20 mins since I prefer mine to be really soaked)
– If desired, you may drizzle some Nutella on top.
– Bake at 170C for 20-30 mins, depending on your preferred consistency. Leave to cool for about 5-10mins.
