I present to you, The Salmah Cheesecake.

Be forewarned. It’s dense, and extremely addictive!

You have been warned.


1 packet Oreo cookies, crushed

1/4 block melted butter

2 tubs Philadelphia cream cheese, softened

2 eggs

3 tbsp plain flour

1 tbsp vanilla essence

1 cup castor sugar

2 tbsp lemon juice

zest of lemon


1. Stir crushed biscuits with melted butter. Press into pan and freeze for at least 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 170 C. Fill a tray with water and leave it in the oven.

2. Beat softened cream cheese on medium for about 1 min.

3. Add sugar, eggs (1 at a time). Beat till just combined.

4. Add vanilla and flour. Beat till just combined. DO not overbeat or cake will crack when baking.

5. Add lemon zest and juice and stir.

6. Pour mixture to cake tin. Place it in the oven on the water-filled tray. Bake for about 30 to 45 mins. Turn the oven off, and let cake cool in the oven for 5-6 hours, minimum; this prevents cracking. Chill in refrigerator until serving.
