Sliced double choc caramel Saturday, Jun 28 2008

I got this recipe off Women’s weekly magazine a few years ago. This one is only for people with a sweet tooth because the caramel layer is extremely sweet.

I think that the caramel layer should be the thinnest layer instead of the thickest, so reduce the recipe accordingly or use a bigger pan!

Vanilla & chocolate cupcakes Saturday, Jun 28 2008

It’s back to basics with plain and simple no frills vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes frosted with vanilla buttercream and chocolate frosting. Whew! That was a mouthful!

I decided to do 4 different combination of cupcakes : Vanilla – vanilla frosting, vanilla-choc frosting, choc-vanilla frosting and choc-choc frosting.

And I am very very pleased to announce that …………….

.

.

1) The recipe is really idiot proof. Anybody can make it. Trust me!

2) My favourite combination is chocolate on chocolate. DUHHH!

It’s chocolate on chocolate. What’s not to like?!

Note: I can’t really remember what chocolate I put on top of the buttercream frosting! But I guess you can use anything.

Cookies and cream cupcakes Friday, Jun 6 2008

Don’t they look adorable? I didn’t manage to get Oreo cookies because for some weird reason, Cold Storage didnt have them. Talk about weird right. So I had to get Jack and Jill cookies, which weren’t as nice. (and they were smaller too!!)

I used vanilla cupcakes recipe with cookie base and vanilla buttercream. So actually this is one of the easiest cupcakes to make! BASIC!

Egg-free chocolate cupcakes with mint frosting Friday, Jun 6 2008

Mint rocks! ’nuff said.

In times of desperation, even the most unlikely thing in the house can be used. This was a toolbox container from ikea which we never really got around to using. Thank goodness!

Moving on! This is the best ever choc cupcakes I have ever tried, and its egg free. Technically its sugar free, but there’s hidden sugar in the recipe. The choc cupcakes are moist and soft and not crumbly at all. It can be eaten with or without frostings, but choc frosting would be the best. Chocoholics BEWARE! Im not really a fan of cooled cupcakes so i would say that it’s best eaten warm, within 10-15 minutes after being removed from the oven.

The words were piped using Betty Crocker’s chocolate frosting, which is one of the best frostings, ever!
